Welcome to the CNAA website

The Community Nurse Audiometrists Association Inc. represents the professional interests of Nurse Audiometrists. It facilitates ongoing professional development and provides a forum for professional support.It has set standards for professional practice through the development of Clinical Competence guidelines, Maintainance of professional Standards Guidelines and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
CNAA produces a quarterly newsletter for members and holds an annual conference for Nurse Audiometrists.
It is involved in the education and support of students of the Graduate Certificate in Audiometry Nursing and of Clinical Competence Advisors.

The 2008 Conference Pack is now available and can be viewed in Events.
It contains information on the Conference (Dinner, Program, Accommodation Options, Accommodation Registration Form, Conference Registration Form & Application for Clinical Supervisors Certificate)
It also contains AGM Forms (Notice of Motion, Proxy Appointment Form & Nomination Form) and Membership Application Form
The Royal College of Nursing has once again endorsed the conference content. Attendance on Day 1 attracts 6.25 Continuing Nursa Education (CNE) points, Day 2; 4.5 CNE points and Day 3; 5.0 CNE points

News Item:
From 2009, it is hoped that payment of Association Membership and Conference fees can be done via Electronic Funds Transfer. Application forms will stiill be required and a note of what the fees are for indicated on the transaction. More as it becomes available.


Membership Application forms can now be downloaded from Forms. Please note there has been an increase in fees.

The Clinical Guidelines have been reviewed and are available on CD from Sue Hynes at a cost of $5 plus postage. Please note the following ammendments:
Hearing Screening using the PA5 (Free Field)
-page15, dot point 3 should read "Sit opposite the child and hold the PA5 at a distance of 50 cm...."
Hearing Screening using the PA5 using headphone
-page 16, dot point 3 should read "Sit opposite the child and hold the PA5 facing the child." (delete at 50 cm)
